I Like It RAW

Did you know that every time you cook your food, you and I don’t get nearly the nutrition that we need? In fact, you may be feeling like you eat really healthy but if all your foods are cooked, we are missing out on some really important nutrients. What, you may be wondering??? Well, the whole point of eating good nutritious foods is to get adequate amounts of vitamins, minerals, proteins and enzymes. And when you cook these foods at high temperatures all of those important components die.

Don’t get me wrong, sometimes I want a hot meal, and I need that too, but I just wish you would let me eat a bit more fresh, raw veggies and fruits, so I could really keep you moving at your best!

RAW-foodHEALTH TIP OF THE DAY: EAT MORE RAW VEGGIES AND FRUITS!

We know that eating a lot of fruits and veggies is good for us, but what most people may not know is that when they cook their foods, even if they are healthy foods, the nutrition in that food disappears and often can become even unhealthy. When foods are cooked above 117 degrees 30-50% of vitamins and minerals are destroyed, and 100% of enzymes are damaged, ( these are essential to breakdown and absorb nutrition into the body). This means if you are only eating cooked veggies, your body is not able to even absorb or take in the minimal amount of nutrition that may be left. High cooking temperatures denature proteins, which destroys the amino acids, leaving them with little to no nutritional value left and often when dealing with cooked meats, creates carcinogens in the body. (carcinogen means cancer causing) Yes sorry, meat eaters but, all cooked meats and dairy products are carcinogenic in the body. Worse yet pesticides become even more toxic when heated, along with more free radical production, cooked food pathogens, and loss of oxygen from the original food. The results of eating all cooked foods, all the time, are lowered immune systems, premature aging, various cancers, clogged arteries and even arthritis. According to research done by cancerologist Dr. Bruce Ames, professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at University of California, Berkeley, there are various groups of chemicals from cooked food that causes tumors in the body. Nitrosamines are created from fish, poultry or meat cooked in gas ovens and barbecues, as nitrogen oxides within gas flames interact with fat residues. Mucoid plaque, a thick tar-like substance builds up in the intestines on a diet of cooked foods. Mucoid plaque is caused by uneliminated, partically digested, putrefying cooked fatty and starch foods.
So to help your body fight illness, disease, and even aging, start to eat more fresh organic raw fruits and veggies.
